Suehiroya Honten is Japanese sweets store, which has been running from 60 or more years before. It sells Japanese sweets based in Gifu prefecture, and specialized Japanese sweets that contains Western tastes.

Suehiroya Honten doesn’t use food additives, and its all sweets are handmade. And the number of sweets displayed at shop is small. If you want to buy many sweets, call to the shop in advance.

Access

Ride on the bus with number C35, C36 or C39 at bus terminal nearby JR Gifu Station, and get off the bus at Shimoshikke, 下尻毛(しもしっけ), bus stop. It will take about 25 minutes. If you don’t understand, ask person at bus terminal information center.

Walk to the opposite direction from the river, and turn right diagonally when you see the second traffic signal. Its intersection is Shimoshikke nishi, displayed as “下尻毛(しもしっけ)西(にし)“. Then you can see the shop on your right side!

It will take 2 or 3 minutes from the bus stop.

You can buy it at kiosk in underground shopping center, ESCA, near by Nagoya station, Aichi prefecture in Japan.

I ate Country Ma’am Ogura Toast Flavor. It’s a taste of Nagoya, Japan.

Ogura Toast

Ogura is sweet adzuki bean paste made of a mixture of mashed and whole beans. Ogura toast is the toast with ogura.

Ogura toast is commonly served in coffee shop or restaurant in Nagoya, Japan.

The most surprising is reproducing of Ogura Toast in Country Ma’am. It’s delicious.

I bought the sweets at Kiosk in ESCA, which is underground shopping center in Nagoya.

The Best Macaron

I ate the Best Macaron! It melts in your mouth, the best macaron I’ve ever eaten. If you like macaron, you should eat it!

Macaron is commonly filled with ganache, buttercream or jam filling sandwiched between 2 cookies, and the cookies are somehow hard. But the best macaron’s cookies has crispy feeling. And it tastes very good!

The best macaron has 6 kinds of testes. Pistachio, caramel, powdered green tea, cassis, chocolat and black tea.

Pâtisserie AZUR

I bought the best macaron at Pâtisserie AZUR. The owner of the shop is Saki Mizuno, who had received training at Paris.

It is located at Iseyama 1-1-17, Naka-ku, Nagoya-shi, Aichi-ken, Japan, which is westward and 5 minutes far, in terms of walking to eastward, from 3rd exit of Meijo subway line Higashibetsuin station
